whats the weather like today in the algarve?

while on holiday in Praia De Luz,The Algarve Portugal. Especially if ones in the medical profession

hi everyone i went to cyprus last year at christmas and this year we are going off to portugal, does anyone know how hot it is compared to cyprus at christmas, we are going to the algarve somewhere called albufeira

yeah its a very friendly area, prices a bit higher than here in the uk, weather should be reasonable that time of year. there is an area known as the strip where all the food places and clubs etc are located. enjoy yourself.

I live in Portugal and the weather has been unusually bad so far this year(like most of Europe). however it has been good for the last week or so 23/24 degrees and once the weather breaks it usually stays hot & dry until November. It certainly won’t be cold, but bring something warmer for the evening and an umbrella just in case!

Reasonably warm and sunny, but make sure your hotel has a heated swimming pool…..the sea, and outdoor pools can be freezing at this time of year. check out www.weather.co.uk, enter the destination of your choice, and you can check out the annual weather statistics for that area.

I don’t know whether you are male or female however, the Algarve probably is the best place to be at Christmas especially if you reside in a country that is cold in winter, like me (Canada). There is no snow but swimming would be out of the question as the ocean would be way too cold. Mind you, if you are brave, I guess you could dip your toes. You can walk around in a light jacket though.
I would suggest that you pack:
jeans, or slacks. some sweatshirts , shirts, t-shirts, something to wear if it rains to keep dry. If you are packing for a female, I personally would pack the same as above but I would take along a warm skirt and jacket just for those special times. A good pair of walking shoes/runners and socks. I hope you have a terrific time and wish I were going also. Our family home is in the Algarve. Don’t forget to try the many wonderful sea food delights.
