Whats It Like In The Algarve In January?
Reasonably warm and sunny, but make sure your hotel has a heated swimming pool…..the sea, and outdoor pools can be freezing at this time of year. check out www.weather.co.uk, enter the destination of your choice, and you can check out the annual weather statistics for that area.

The weather can still be quite mild and I like it this time of the year since there are not too many tourist. It’s also great for outdoor sports like golf, hiking etc.
From January through to the end of March is Almond Blossom time. Yes mild through the day but very cold in the evenings. House slippers are a must as the tiled floors of the apartments and villas are uncomfortably cold to walk on.
Most air conditioners have a turbo heating function and together with a log fire on the Portuguese Wood Burners the evenings indoors can be warm and cosy.
